Paul graduated in Economics and Accounting at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He is a Fellow of
the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

He has worked in the accountancy profession, in both medium and large professional practices, in accountancy tuition at Chart Foulks Lynch and in higher education, where he was Principal Lecturer at Bristol Business School, University of the West of England.

Paul joined Solomon Hare, Bristol in 1989, where he is currently Technical Director with responsibility for
both technical and training matters.He is author of Spicer and Pegler's Book-keeping and Accounts and co-author of Financial Reporting for Smaller Companies.

For over 11 years, Paul was General Editor of Butterworths Financial Reporting and Accounting Service.
